Different faces of Shinjuku, Kabukicho, & Omoide Yokocho.
I was walking around Shinjuku areas and being immersed in this complex society. I saw what made a metropolitan city and at the same time I was greeted with the old. I felt the busyness of the area, the fast pace of life and how everything condensed into one spot.
Below is a shot in Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane). Lots of small yakitory places. They were selling this grilled meat in a stick. The air was just filled with good smokey bbq meat and laughter from the locals.
This was taken in the middle of the street while I was crossing the junction. The place was so alive and vibrant.
Lots of billboard and neon lights, people busy and moving at a fast pace. As I stand here I thought "ah so this is the famous Shinjuku".
They still managed to retain this old / retro atmosphere.
This was taken in one of the alley in Omoide Yokocho area. I honestly thought this was straight out of manga / anime (if you do watch one you will understand what I meant!).
Let me know what do you all think!
