Kinkaku-ji at Kyoto.
This is the Golden Pavilion, there is Silver Pavilion at Kyoto as well (I've written about it in another post). Too bad they didn't have the Bronze Pavilion. Hahaha. This is one of the more famous temple in Kyoto, lot of tourist (be it via their tour group or themselves) come over here.
Below is the entrance to the temple, less impressive compare to the one at Ginkaku-ji !
As usual they gave me the guidebook and the ticket I assume which looks like a charm. I totally can't read the kanji so I'm completely clueless as to what is written there!
As I walked inside, I saw this building which at first I thought was "oh is that the Golden Pavilion? It doesn't look that golden to me!". The reason was because I visited the Silver Pavilion and it definitely didn't look like it was covered in silver!
Yeap here it is, the real deal. It is totally covered in gold and it was so shiny! The picture definitely didn't do justice to it. I honestly can't imagine how beautiful it will be during cherry blossom where the sakura falling or winter where everything is covered in white.
The place that I shot this from was a special designated area for photo taking. So you will be sure to get a fantastic photo!
A shot from another position. It was quite unfortunate that I wasn't able to take a look inside the temple!
In the exit area, there is a cafe for you to relax, have some tea and snacks if you wish to. Those classic ocha with their sweet dessert! Kyoto is pretty famous for their desserts in case you do not know!
